Galfab honored with WorkOne achievement award

INDIANAPOLIS - Galfab Inc., located in Winamac, received a WorkOne Achievement Award for partnering with WorkOne to create employment opportunities for local Hoosiers.

The award was presented Tuesday (April 21) in a ceremony at the Indiana Statehouse.

Galfab is a premier designer and manufacturer of waste equipment of all types. They partnered with WorkOne in utilizing hiring services available such as IndianaCareerConnect.com job postings and candidate screening, along with the WorkKeys skills assessment and interviewing process to locate, assess and identify individuals with the right skillsets for their open positions. Through this partnership, over 40 welders have been hired and over 20 young adults have received valuable work traits and industry knowledge through work experiences.

“At the beginning of this year, Galfab grew their partnership with WorkOne by launching the On-the-Job-Training program, which will enable more Hoosiers to obtain new skills with permanent employment,” said Steven J. Braun, Commissioner of the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. “Galfab serves as an excellent example of how partnering with WorkOne benefits the employer, job seekers and the community."

The WorkOne Achievement Awards are awarded by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development to 12 individuals for their outstanding accomplishments while participating in the workforce development system.
