Charles A. Rose Sr.

October 9, 1928 to July 7, 2021

WINAMAC - Charles A. “Charlie” Rose Sr., 92, of Winamac, passed away Wednesday, July 7, at home.

He was born Oct. 9, 1928 in North Judson, to the late Rudolph and Mollie Rater Rose. On Oct. 28, 1950, he married Bernice M. Garling in Francesville. She passed away April 21, 2014.

Mr. Rose was a longtime member of St. James Salem United Church of Christ in Francesville. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union for over 30 years. He enjoyed building, woodworking, and gardening. Following retirement, he worked with his brothers doing construction. He was an avid country music fan. He enjoyed playing his guitar and making music with his family. He loved his family very much and will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday, July 11, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. The funeral Service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, July 12, at the funeral home with Rev. Nelda Seger officiating. Burial will be at St. James Salem Cemetery in Francesville. The American Legion will conduct military graveside services.

Visitors are encouraged to observe current health and safety guidelines.

Pamalea J. Fitchett

August 3, 1951 to July 7, 2021

WINAMAC - Pamalea Josephine “Pam” Fitchett, 69, of Winamac, passed away Wednesday, July 7, at Northwest Health Porter Hospital in Valparaiso, with her daughter by her side.

She was born Aug. 3, 1951 in Medaryville, at her grandparent’s home. She was a 1969 graduate of Kouts High School. In 1980, she earned an associate’s degree from Indiana Business College in Marion. She married Rev. Carl S. Fitchett, on Aug. 23, 2008. He passed away Oct. 12, 2019.

Mrs. Fitchett retired from CVS in North Judson in 2008 where she had made her career as a pharmacy technician. She and her husband enjoyed traveling when they were able. She was a devoted Christian woman and member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Denham. Her faith led her to sobriety in 1991, and over the years she proudly sponsored others who struggled with alcohol addiction. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, especially weekly Bible study. She loved her family very much, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 13, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 14, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Denham, with Rev. Joel Zipay officiating. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in North Judson.

Phyllis A. Lowry

February 17, 1936 to July 7, 2021

FRANCESVILLE - Phyllis A. Lowry, 85, of Reynolds, passed away Wednesday, July 7, at her home.

She was born Feb. 17, 1936 in San Pierre, to Lewis and Theresa Smallfelt Kracht. On Aug. 17, 1958, she married Kenneth F. Lowry in Medaryville. He died Aug. 21, 2000.

Mrs. Lowry worked as a secretary at Kaiser Agricultural Chemicals and at the Co-op Elevator in Francesville. She worked in the fertilizer industry for over 50 years. She was a 1954 graduate of Medaryville High School. She was a member of the St. James-Salem Church in Francesville. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially hosting Sunday dinners for her family. She enjoyed gardening and celebrating Christmas. Each year she and her family set up Christmas lights and decorations for the community at her home.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m., Sunday, July 11, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Francesville. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m., Monday, July 12, at the funeral home with Rev. Judith Doll officiating. Burial will be at Roseland Cemetery in Francesville.

FRANCESVILLE - Christian Alan “Chris” Mueller, 43, of Gary (formerly of Francesville), passed away Monday, July 5.

He was born Dec. 14, 1977 to Alan Charles and Rebecca Ann Lewis Mueller. He graduated from West Central High School in 1996.

WINAMAC - Jane Wieringa, 65, of Knox, passed away Sunday, July 4, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka.

She was born Feb. 15, 1956 in South Bend to Robert and Velma Jean Bair Jenkins. She grew up on the southside of South Bend. She loved her family very much and will be deeply missed.

MEDARYVILLE - Bozica “Liz” Lindstrom, 79, of Medaryville, passed away Monday, June 30, at her home.

She was born July 22, 1941 in Bačina, Varvarin, Serbia (formerly Yugoslavia). In 1956, she emigrated to Chicago. On May 11, 1973, she married Harry H. Lindstrom Jr., in Wheaton, IL. He survives.

Mrs. Lindstrom was a proud homemaker. She always raised a beautiful vegetable garden. She enjoyed canning and cooking. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a devoted caregiver to her in-laws, provider for her family, and gracious neighbor. She and her husband enjoyed 48 years of life together, especially traveling after his retirement in 1999.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, July 5, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Medaryville. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home, with Rev. Jeff Seger officiating. Burial will be at San Pierre Cemetery in San Pierre.
