Dan DuBois

Dec. 25, 1954 to July 20, 2021

WINAMAC - Dan DuBois, 68, of Palmer, AK (formerly of Lawton) passed away Tuesday, July 20, in Alaska following a brave battle with cancer.

He was born Dec. 25, 1954, in Winamac, to the late Joseph and Madonna Reinholt DuBois. He graduated from Culver High School. On May 25, 1976, he married Marsha Reinholt. She survives.

For many years, Mr. DuBois worked at the A&P Store in Winamac and spent most of his life working on the Alaska pipelines. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting. He loved his family very much and cherished time spent with his grandchildren.

The family will host a celebration of life at 1 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 1, at the home of Fred and Beth DuBois (7505 S. 450 W. Star City, IN 46985).

Cecil R. Wireman

October 16, 1940 to July 18, 2021

MEDARYVILLE - Cecil Ray Wireman, 80, of Medaryville, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 18, at Parkview Haven Retirement Home in Francesville.

He was born Oct. 16, 1940 in Rensselaer. He graduated from Wheatfield High School in 1959. On Feb. 28, 1981, he married Shelia Burns at the Medaryville Christian Church. She passed away July 16, 2020.

Mr. Wireman retired from Bethlehem Steel where he worked many years as a crane operator. He was a kind and generous man who was known to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He often gave people rides to their doctor’s appointments, the grocery store, or wherever they needed to go. He knew everyone and everyone knew him. Years ago, he was known as the “mayor of Medaryville.” He enjoyed going to flea markets and was a collector of many things. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, July 26, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Medaryville. The funeral service will at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 27, at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Dewlen officiating. Burial will be at White Post Cemetery in Medaryville.

Memorial donations may be made to The West Central Backpack Pantry or Medaryville Assembly of God Church or United Baptist Church of Gilliam Township (Bailey’s Corner Church).

WINAMAC - Randy E. Baker, 67, of Winamac, passed away Sunday, July 18, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born Jan. 26, 1954, in Lafayette, to the late Ralph W. and Dorothy A. Weaver Baker. He graduated from Winamac Community High School in 1972. On April 28, 1984, he married Brenda S. Crider. She survives.

Mr. Baker was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and the Knights Columbus in Winamac. He was also a member of the Hoosier Cobra Club. He enjoyed farming, driving his Cobra, fishing, hunting, and photography. He was a proud supporter of Pulaski County 4-H. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 21, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. A scriptural wake service will follow at 8 p.m., at the funeral home with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman officiating, followed by a rosary service. A funeral mass will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 22, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Winamac, with Rev. Andrew DeKeyser officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Winamac.

Corey A. Loveless

WINAMAC - Corey Andrew Loveless, 47, of Winamac (formerly of Valparaiso), passed away Saturday, July 17, at his home.

He was born Aug. 3, 1973 in Hobart, to the late William Wayne and Kathleen Sharon Stocker Loveless. He graduated from Wheeler High School in 1992.

WINAMAC - Elizabeth A. “Betty” Wallace, 82, of Winamac, passed away at 3:40 p.m., Saturday, July 17, at her home.

She was born Nov. 9, 1938 in Winamac to the late Clement A. and Bernice B. Kuhn Braun. She graduated from Winamac High School in 1957. On Sept. 18, 1982, she married Walter G. “Walt” Wallace at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Winamac. He passed away June 20, 2020.

Mrs. Wallace was retired from Pulaski Memorial Hospital where she had worked as a cook for 28 years. She was an active member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church as well as the Ladies of Charity and Christian Mothers. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, Pulaski Memorial Auxiliary, Eagle’s Auxiliary, and American Legion Auxiliary. She was a volunteer and board member of Pulaski County Human Services and enjoyed spending time at the Von Tobel Senior Center. She also enjoyed gardening and bird watching. She loved her family very much. She especially adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be from4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 20, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. A scriptural wake service will follow at 8 p.m., with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman officiating, followed by a Ladies of Charity and Christian Mothers service. A funeral mass will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 21, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Winamac, with Rev. Daniel Shine officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Winamac.

Memorial donations may be made to the Von Tobel Senior Center.

WINAMAC - Penny Kayleen Craft, 70, of Winamac, passed away at her home Friday, July 16.

She was born July 13, 1951 in Lafayette, to Charles Kern and Glenna Dean Kirts Leming. She married James D. Craft. He survives.

Mrs. Craft grew up in Battleground, IN, and graduated from high school there. She worked many years at Thermo Products in North Judson. She also worked as a dispatcher for a private trucking company in DeMotte. She enjoyed enjoying retired life and living on the Tippecanoe River with her husband, Jim. She loved her dogs, watching Jeopardy, and collecting figurines. More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her family whom she loved dearly. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 20, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. Private burial will take place at a later date.
