WINAMAC - David Sierzputowski 77, Winamac, died at 10:50 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 10, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.
He was born Oct. 14, 1933, in Chicago, to the late Bruno and Stephanie Mrozinski Sierzputowski. He married Joan Mildred Rhode on Nov. 9, 1957, in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Denham. She survives.

Mr. Sierzputowski graduated from North Judson High School in 1953. He worked at Flintco in North Judson. He attended a six- week course in agriculture at Purdue University. He served in the U.S. Army for four years. He was a farmer most of his life. He also helped with the 4-H program and served on the beef committee.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Monday (Feb. 14) at the funeral home with Pastor Carl Fitchett officiating. The American Legion and VFW will conduct a military service at the funeral home following the funeral service.
Memorial donations may be given to the Diabetes Association, Lung Cancer Association, Heart Association, or a favorite charity.
D. Jane Chambers
November 3, 1916 to February 3, 2011
ROYAL CENTER - Dorothy Jane Chambers, 94 of Star City, passed away at 1:45 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 3, at White Oak Healthcare Center in Monticello.
Born Nov. 3, 1916 in Cincinnati, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Bess (Schorman) Yester. On Dec. 4, 1937, she married Harold Ray Chambers and he preceded her in death Oct. 8, 2006.
 Survivors include her son, Roger L. Chambers and wife, Rita of Martinsville, daughters, Janice C. Taylor and Barbara S. Allen and husband, Dean, all of Star City, 12 grandchildren, Frank Taylor & wife, Lesa; Charles Taylor & wife, Sue; Tina Newton & husband, Claude; John Taylor & wife, Linda; Pamela Fox & husband, Steve; Patti Moore & husband, James; Rhonda Cashan & husband, Terry; Nathan Chambers & wife, Tina; Karen Chambers; Jim Allen & wife, Chandra; Janette Moore & husband, Chris; Anita Caskey & husband, Nathan. She is also survived by 24 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Donald G. Yester and Albert Yester, sister, Betty L. Quinn and son-in-law, Frank Taylor.
Mrs. Chambers was a graduate of Dayton High School in Dayton, Ky. She was a homemaker and she also retired from Trans America Insurance Company in Indianapolis. She was a member of Shiloh Christian Church in Logansport and a former member of Order of Eastern Star in Jeffersontown, Kentucky.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday (Feb. 12), at the funeral home. Burial will be inPro Cemetery in Headlee.

Eileen D. Harnew
August 8, 1921 to February 6, 2011
WINAMAC - Eileen D. Harnew, 89, of 515 E.13th St., Winamac, away at 8:55 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 6, at Hickory Creek, Winamac.
She was born Aug. 8, 1921, in Remington, to the late Leonard and Mary Francis Bilile Dickinson. She married Ivan Harnew who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Harnew resided in Winamac for the past 4 years, moving from Champaign, IL.

Fred Chupp
March 28, 1922 to February 5, 2011
WINAMAC - Fred Chupp, 88, of 1756 E 225 N, Winamac, passed away at 1:53 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 5, at his residence.
He was born March 28, 1922 in White Cloud, MI, to the late Edward and Bernice Artlip Chupp. He married Ruth L. McClung on Nov. 13, 1974, in Winamac. She survives.

Mr. Chupp was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Winamac. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the VFW Post #1728, and American Legion Post #71, both of Winamac. He retired from NIPSCO in 1984 after 31 years of employment.
Friends may call after 10 a.m., Wednesday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., (Wednesday, Feb. 9), at the funeral home, with Pastor David Norris officiating. Burial will be in Ever Rest Memorial Park,Logansport. The VFW and American Legion will conduct military services at the funeral home following the service.

Stelios K. Ress
November 13, 1923 to February 4, 2011
WINAMAC - Stelios "Steve" K. Ress, 87, of Winamac, passed away at 2:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 4, at Unity Medical & Surgical Hospital in Mishawaka.
He was born Nov. 13, 1923, in Karies Ghios, Greece, to the late Konstantinos and Anna Maris Ress. He married his wife, Stella in Greece. She survives.

Mr. Ress served as a bugler in the Greek army during World War II. He came to the U.S. in January 1967. He became a US citizen in 1978. He was the former owner and chef at Snack Time Restaurant in Chicago. He also helped his son Gus at Kostas Restaurant in Winamac.
A private service will be held at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. Burial will take place in McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac.
Donald Stamper
September 9, 1934 to February 2, 2011
WINAMAC - Donald D. Stamper, 76, of 7910 N. U.S. 35, Winamac, passed away at 2:48p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 2, in Golden Living Sycamore Village, Kokomo.
He was born Sept. 9, 1934, in Crandon, WI, to the late John S. and Esther C. Wayberg Stamper. He married Lois A. Delong on Oct. 14, 1961, in Dyer. She survives.

Mr. Stamper was a former truck driver and had also been a heavy equipment operator. He had served in the U.S. Army in the 1950's. He was a former resident of Griffith for many years and had moved to Winamac 31 years ago.
Friends may call after 10 a.m., Monday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., (Monday, Feb.7), at the funeral home with Pastor Denny Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Winamac Cemetery, Winamac. Military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion and the VFW.
Memorial donations may be given to the family or the charity of the donor's choice.
Ruth A. Kamin

KNOX - Ruth A. Kamin, 90, of Monterey, passed away Monday, Jan. 31.
Her parents were the late Henry F. and Emilie Trenkler Greinke. She married William F. Karmin. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Phillip D. Kamin and June (Walter) Marks; a sister Marion Martin; and granchildren Kelly and Paul Marks.
Visitation is 2 to 6 p.m. (CT), Thursday, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Culver. The funeral service will be at 9 a.m. (CT), Friday (Feb. 4), at the church. Burial will follow at Elm Lawn Cemetery, Elmhurst, Ill.
The M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox is in charge of arrangements.
