Helen M. Whiteman
April 22, 1914 to September 16, 2011
KEWANNA - Helen Meredith (Budd) Whiteman, 97, of Kewanna passed away at 5:50 a.m., Friday, Sept. 16, at her residence.
Born on April 22, 1914 in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Merrill and Jane (Thomas) Budd. On Aug. 10, 1939 she married Herbert B. Whiteman, and he preceded her in death on April 10, 1988.
Survivors include her children, Kenton L. Whiteman (Bev) of Kewanna, Karen Sue Whiteman Rice (Barry Worl), of Indianapolis, Sherri J. Lett of Kewanna, Dr. Cindy J. Parker (Dr. David) of Marion, Virginia, and Kevin H. Whiteman (Monica) of Pulaski; 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 5 great- great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by grandsons, Duane Whiteman, Dale Whiteman, Christopher Parker, Benjamin Parker and Nathanial Parker and sister, Delta Carroll.
Mrs. Whiteman was a 1931 graduate of Winamac High School and a 1932 graduate of South Bend College of Commerce. She had worked for the Pulaski County Soil Conservation office, Pulaski County Recorder’s office and the NFO office in Rochester. She retired from Dave Sirken Distributors in Rochester. She was also a homemaker.
She was a member of Kewanna United Methodist Church. She was also a former member of several Winamac and Kewanna Home-Ec and Bunco Clubs. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting.
Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m., Sunday, at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Homes, Kewanna Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday (Sept. 19), at the funeral home with Pastor Todd Wilson officiating. Burial will be in McKinley Memorial Gardens, Winamac.
Memorial donations may be made to Kewanna United Methodist Church.
James W. Needham
December 16, 1960 to September 14, 2011
WINAMAC - James William Needham, 50, of Springfield, MO, formerly of Winamac, passed away at 7:28 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14, at his residence.
He was born December 16, 1960, in Shaker Heights, OH. His parents are Charles L. and Joyce V. Widup McKinley. He married Cathy Rife on May 28, 1983. She survives.

Mr. Needham was a retired Millwork Specialist. He was a 1979 graduate of Winamac Community High School. He enjoyed woodworking. He loved his family, especialy his grandchildren.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday (Sept. 20), at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Pilger and Pastor Rick Abbott officiating. Burial will be in McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac/

WINAMAC - Erron Michael Stoddard, 19, of Winamac, died in an automobile accident at 433 N. Chicago St. in Royal Center, on Saturday, Sept. 10, at 4:09 a.m
He was born Nov. 28, 1991, in Pasadena, TX, to Jack Phillip Stoddard and Laura Johnson.

Mr. Stoddard had attended Winamac Community High School. He was previously employed at the Tippecanoe River State Park. He loved playing basketball. He was a avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. Erron had a long time girlfriend, Brittany Green.
Arrangements were under the care of Frain Mortuary, Winamac.

WINAMAC - Debra E. Kasten, 57, of Winamac, passed away at 10:15 p.m., Friday, Sept. 9, at her residence in Winamac.
She was born April 7, 1954, in Chicago, to the Kenneth and Betty Schield. She married Bill Kasten on May 13, 1972 in Itasca, IL. He survives.

Mrs. Kasten was a homemaker and the former manager of the hardware store at the Francesville Elevator. She enjoyed shopping, and spending time with her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed going out to breakfast on Saturday mornings and visiting with her friends.

NORTH JUDSON - Geneva M. Kosinski, 87, Winamac, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 31.
She was born Jan. 16, 1924.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen M. Knutson of Fishers; her brother, Glenn Berkshire of Beverly Hills, Florida; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is at 12 noon Saturday, at O'Donnell Funeral Home, North Judson. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., (Saturday, Sept. 3), at the funeral home. Rev. David Mullens will officiate. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery North Judson.

WINAMAC - Ralph Frederick Crist, 85, of Star City, passed away at 3:34 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 4, at Life Care Center, Rochester.
He was born Jan. 6, 1926, in Pulaski, to the late Ulva Dulva "Bill" and Agnes Emma Baker Crist. He married Ardella Jean Good on April 20, 1947, in Monticello. She passed away July 31, 1982.

Mr. Crist served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served in the European Theater and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a Life Member of the VFW Post in Kewanna. He served as a 4-H Horse and Pony leader for many years. He was retired from Galbreath Inc. where he was a truck driver and welder. Following his retirement he operated a vending machine route with many businesses in the area for 15 years. He enjoyed reading, especially western stories. He liked to fish and travel.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m., Friday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday Sept. 10), at the funeral home with David Broad officiating. Burial will be in Paul's Chapel Cemetery, Winamac, where military graveside services will be conducted.
Memorial donations may be given to the Pulaski County 4-H Horse and Pony Club or John & Jackie Wheeler Scholarship Fund for 4-H Horse and Pony kids.
Christine Allen
December 16, 1966 to August 20, 2011
ROCHESTER - Christine "Tina" Allen, 44, Delong, passed away Saturday, August 20.
She was born Dec. 16, 1966, the daughter of Melvin and Joann Clingler. She married Alan Allen on June 16, 1984. He survives.
Also surviving are daughter Autumn Adams and husband Nathan, Houston, Texas; son, Austin Allen, Delong; mother, Joann Clingler, Tippecanoe; brothers, William Clingler and his wife Michelle, Culver, and Gary Clingler and his wife Synthia, Rochester; and father-in-law, Rev. G. Floyd Allen, Delong.
She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Clingler, in 1995.
Though a member of Plymouth Baptist Church in later years, she spent most of her life worshipping at the Delong Gospel Lighthouse Church.
Through her childhood and early adulthood, she became piano and flute student to her teacher, mentor, and friend, Vera Singer Wickline. Through this endeavor she became a graduate of the National Piano Guild and an accomplished pianist. She often sang with her husband and family at home, church, or in other public settings. She became teacher to many piano and flute students.
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday at Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester. A celebration of the life will be at 12 noon, Wednesday (Aug. 24), at Delong Gospel Lighthouse Church, Delong, with the Revs. Doug Jividen and G. Floyd Allen officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at Leiter's Ford IOOF Cemetary.
