Dale K. Petersen
September 28, 1923 to November 15, 2012
ROCHESTER - Dale Kinsey Petersen, 89, of Rochester passed away at 12:38 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
He was born in Chicago on Sept. 28, 1923 to the late Sigurd Richard and Hazel Kinsey Petersen. He married Clovis Mikesell on May 20, 1945, and they were married for 52 years before she preceded him in death on Jan. 2, 1997. He married Eileen Waltz Halterman on Sept. 27, 1997, in Winamac. She survives.
He is also survived by two daughters: Marlene Nellans and husband Gary of Winamac, and Geraldine Petersen of Milwaukee, WI; four sons: Marvin Petersen and wife Mary of Wickenburg, AZ, Steven Petersen of Mishawaka, Ted Halterman and wife Alma of Rochester, and Lynn Halterman and wife Mary Kay of Charlotte, NC; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Vreeland of WI; and a brother David Petersen of CA. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Spending his childhood in Arkansas, Mr. Petersen, the son of a minister, was the oldest of three children. He graduated in 1941 from Western Grove High School in Western Grove, Ark. Later, he attended John Brown University where he studied aeronautical engineering. He met his future wife, Clovis, while he was stationed with the U.S. Force in Bozeman, Mont. They were introduced while she was visiting her brother. They were married six months later. After World War II, they returned to Indiana where he worked in quality control at Bendix, Indiana Metal, and Talma Fastener in the tool room.
Clovis and Dale were married for over a half century. He took wonderful care of her as in the later years she suffered from Multiple Sclerosis. He was remarried in an outdoor ceremony at the home of his daughter Marlene. Eileen and Dale enjoyed traveling. Their favorite destinations were Niagara Falls, North Carolina and and California. Eileen taught Dale to dance and play euchre. Mr. Petersen enjoyed friendships and being around people and was known for his corny jokes, quick wit and quiet demeanor. A man of true compassion for others, he delivered meals for Woodlawn Hospital, and pharmaceuticals for the Webb Family Pharmacy.
He was a member of the Talma Methodist Church, and also attended the Trinity United Methodist Church of Rochester. He and Eileen were members of the Win- A-Couple Sunday School class. He loved the Lord and left a strong Christian legacy for his family by the way he lived his life. He was loved by his grandchildren who surrounded his bed during his last hours. He was also a member of the Manitou VFW #1343, LeRoy Shelton American Legion Post #36 and the Moose Family Lodge #1107.
Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, and 9 to 10 a.m., Monday, at Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester. A celebration of life serve will begin at 10 a.m., Monday (Nov. 19), at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Fulton County Honor Guard and the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Honor Guard.
Vernon R. Pratt
April 15, 1937 to November 21, 2012
WINAMAC - Vernon R. Pratt, 75, of Burnettsville, passed away at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Monticello Assisted Living and Health Care, Monticello.
He was born April 15, 1937, in Winamac, to the late Lindle and Cecelia DuBois Pratt. He married Gail Popejoy on July 13, 1992 in Gatlinburg, TN. She survives.

Mr. Pratt served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW, Monticello, and the American Legion.
Formerly of Winamac, he had resided in Burnettsville since 1967. He was a longtime member of the Burnettsville Volunteer Fire Department. He was a former employee of RCA, Monticello, and Peters Revington, Delphi. He also was a driver for Superior Auto. He loved NASCAR, gardening, yard work, and was a former softball coach for the RCA team. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamad. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. (Friday, Nov. 23), at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davis Cemetery, Burnettsville.
Robin W. Scott
January 26, 1961 to November 11, 2012
WINAMAC - Robin W. Scott, 51, of Winamac, died Sunday, Nov. 11, in Indianapolis.
He was born Jan. 26, 1961.
He was a resident of Franklin Township in Pulaski County.
No services will be held. Private burial will take place at Mt. Zion-Franklin Tonwship Cemetery, Winamac.

Michael C. Velligan
October 4, 1953 to November 14, 2012
WINAMAC - Michael Carey Velligan, 59, of Las Vegas, died Nov. 14..
He was born Oct. 4, 1953 in LaPorte, to the late Michael and Barbara Mae Thompson Velligan.
He is survived by his partner, Mitch Savar, sister Vivian Puetz (William), brother Steve Velligan (Bethany), Stepsons Chris (Veronica) Thompson, George Thompson III, Jeffrey Savar, stepdaughters Lori Savar, Kristi Walters (Mike), 3 nieces, 2 nephews and 6 great nieces/nephews, 9 grandchildren and numerous cousins throughout the U.S.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Barbara, sister, Camila Velligan and partner of 32 years, George Thompson.
Growing up, Mr. Velligan was a Boy Scout and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. After attending Purdue University he relocated to San Diego, and then to Phoenix. He was an accomplished millwright on the Palo Verde and San Onofre nuclear power plants. After surviving a 25,000 volt electrical accident, He retired to Monticello, relaxing in his lakefront home. After a brief move to Bend, Oregon, he relocated to Las Vegas where he enjoyed the climate and peacefulness of his home. Those who were touched by him understood his extremely large heart and his fun loving personality. He was always ready to help those around him, he always had a joke or an amazing life time story. He loved being with his family, he enjoyed his computer games, woodworking, gardening and crossword puzzles.
A celebration of life was held the night before he passed in his room at Odyssey Hospice with friends and family. The family extends thanks to Pastor Rudy of Calvary Chapel for his prayers and blessings. Mr. Velligan will be laid to rest in Star City, next to his mother and sister.

WINAMAC - Goldie May White, 78, of Winamac, passed away at 7:05 p.m., Friday, Nov. 16, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.
She was born Oct. 14, 1934, in Hendrickson, MO, to the late George Edward and Julia Clementine Autrey Hendrickson. She married Murle Allen White on Dec. 15, 1950 in Clay County, Arkansas. He died May 27, 1999.

Mrs. White was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She was baptised on May 9, 1965. She served in many capacities in the church, especially as a Sunday School teacher. She was a homemaker and a babysitter. She enjoyed spending time with children, embroidering, cooking and baking. She loved reading her Bible and giving Bibles to children.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m., Friday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The fuuneral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday (Nov. 24), at the funeral home with Pastor David Norris officiating. Burial will be in McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac.

WINAMAC - Linda L. Baker, 70, of Winamac, passed away at 3:41 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 14, at St. Vincent Seaton Speciality Hospital, Indianapolis.
She was born Jan. 21, 1942, in Warren, OH, to the late Frank and Ilene Smallwood Barber. She married Lloyd R. Baker on Nov. 9, 1963, in Marianna, PA. He passed away on March 18, 2007.

Mrs. Baker was the owner of Tippecanoe Mobile Home Park, Winamac, and had worked in retail stores in Winamac. She dearly loved her grandchildren with all her heart and enjoyed every moment with them. She enjoyed having her friends visit over coffee. She enjoyed playing Bunco and was a member of two Bunco Clubs. She enjoyed the company of her canine companion Cee-Cee
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m., Saturday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Sunday (Nov. 18), at the funeral home with Rev. Edward Clark officiating. Burial willbe in McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac.

WINAMAC - Rosemary Ruff Weaver, 86, of Star City, died at 10 p.m., Wednesday, Nov, 14, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.
She was born Aug.3, 1926, in Star City, to the late Harold F. and Gertrude Regina Shulz Ruff Sr.She married Albert James Weaver on June 18, 1947 in Pulaski. He died April 21, 2008.

Mrs. Weaver was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Winamac, Christian Mothers and Ladies of Charity. She was a devout Catholic who loved saying the rosary. She was a farm wife and enjoyed working in her garden, especially raising her flowers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to cook for them. She enjoyed Bingo, Bunco games and ice cream. She has two "Sponsor Children" in Africa whom she enjoyed helping and writing to.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. A rosary service will be at 7 p.m. It wil be immediately followed by a Christian Mothers Service and a scriptural wake service. A funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, (Nov. 19), at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Winamac, with Rev. Martin Sandhage officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Winamac.
Memorial Contributions may be given to: Pulaski Health Care Center Activities Fund, Pulaski Memorial Hospital Auxillary, or Helping Hands Fund at Eastern Pulaski Schools.
