Claud Si Grizzell
June 19, 1916 to January 29, 2013
WINAMAC - Claud Si Grizzell, 96, Winamac, passed away at 8:08 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.
He was born June 19, 1916 in Denison, Texas, to the late Claud A. and Mary E. Wertz Grizzell. He married Mary E. Petrungaro in 1951 in Chicago. She died March 24, 1984. He later married Dolores M. Small Lasley on May 31, 1986 in Logansport, She survives.

Mr. Grizzell was a retired stationary engineer for the Sherman-Williams Co. in Chicago. He also worked as a photographer for several newspapers. He was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church, Logansport; Twin Rivers Muzzle Loaders, Logansport; National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association; Fulton County Historical Society, Rochester; and Mill Creek Trappers. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, from 1939-1945. He was a member of the USS Cushing DD-376 Reunion Association. He was serving aboard the ship when it was sunk at the Battle of Guadalcanal. He was a Life Member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion, Winamac.
Friends may call 4 to 8 Monday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. A rosary service will be at 7 p.m., immediately followed by a scriptural wake service. The funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday (Feb. 5), at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Winamac, with Rev. Mike McKinney and Rev. Martin Sandhage officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Alsip, IL, Tuesday at 3 p.m..The VFW and the American Legion will conduct Military Services immediately following services at the church.
Memorials may be given to the All Saints Catholic Church or to St. Peter's Catholic Church.

WINAMAC - Lorraine Tunis, 76, of Winamac, passed away at 1:25 a.m., Monday, Feb. 4, at Hickory Creek, Winamac.
She was born June 7, 1936, in Chicago, to the late Joseph and Louise Foreman Zakrajsek.

Mrs. Tunis was a certified nursing assistant and had worked for many years at Hickory Creek, Winamac. She was a former member of the Eagles #2580 Auxillary, Winamac. She enjoyed bingo, cross word puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Friends may call from1 to 2 p.m., Friday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., (Friday, Feb. 8), at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Begley officiating. Burial will be in Winamac Cemetery, Winamac.

Glenna B. Haschel
February 8, 1927 to January 31, 2013
WINAMAC - Glenna B. Haschel, 85, of Winamac, died at 12:10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 31, at Wintersong Village, Knox.
She was born Feb. 8, 1927, in Delong, to the late Francis and Jeaneave Faulkner Kelly. She married Ray Edward Haschel on Nov. 20, 1948 in Culver. He died Oct. 28, 1998.

Mrs. Haschel worked as a cashier at the A&P Grocery in Winamac for many years. She had also worked as a telephone switchboard operator in Monterey and Winamac. She earned a pilot license as a young woman and maintained it for many years. She was an avid gardener and bird watcher. She gave many wild flower presentations to groups over the years. She especially loved going on Mayflower tours. She had traveled to all 50 states and to seven foreign countries. She was an avid NASCAR racing fan. Her favorite driver was Dale Jarrett. She was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star No. 96 in Winamac.
Friends may call 12 noon to 1 p.m., Tuesday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., (Tuesday, Feb. 5), at the funeral home with Rev. Laura Bailey officiating. Burial will be in McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac.

Demaris Koebcke
June 24, 1935 to January 23, 2013
MONON - Demaris Koebcke, 77, of Francesville, died at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013 at IU Health Hospital of Lafayette.
She was born June 24, 1935 in Francesville to the late Forest and Opal Bailey. Her marriage was to Willard Koebcke on Dec. 31, 1951 in Jeffersonville. He survives.
Surviving with her husband are two daughters; Jackye (Blaine) Hites of Olney, IL and Ellen (Harvey) Gutwein of Francesville and one sister; Janelle Tiede of Francesville. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; Nicole (Robert) Schwartz of Peru, Holly (Shannon) Blank of Olney, IL, Heather (Kevin) Cox of Munster, Summer (Karl) Schippert of Evansville, Stuart (Alivia) Gutwein of Lafayette, Lance (Erica) and Tyler (Lacie) Gutwein both of Francesville and eighteen grandchildren.
Mrs. Koebcke was a member of the First Christian Church of Francesville.
Friends may call one hour prior to her memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 26), at the First Christian Church of Francesville with Pastor Jim Ketchen officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the First Christian Church of Francesville or the American Heart Association.

Audley A. Kochel
November 18, 1934 to January 29, 2013
ROYAL CENTER - Audley Allen Kochel, 78 of Winamac, passed away at 2:10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Pulaski Health Care Center in Winamac.
Born Nov. 18, 1934 in Pulaski County, he was the son of the late Harry Oscar and Pearl (DeWitt) Kochel.
Survivors include daughters, Vickie Kling of Kansas City, MO. and Brenda Walker-Kochel of Mooresville; brothers, Samuel F. Kochel of Burnettsville and Paul Kochel of Logansport; 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by daughter, Peggy, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
There will be no services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Royal Center.
Zale D. DuBois
October 21, 1924 to January 29, 2013
WINAMAC - Zale D. DuBois, Sr., 88, of Rochester, formerly of Winamac, passed away at 11:02 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Life Care Center Of Rochester.
He was born Oct. 21, 1924, in Mishawaka, to the late Clyde and Tressa Vanetta Wiler DuBois. He married Leanna M. "Pete" Rupright on Sept. 6, 1946 in Mishawaka. She survives.

Mr. DuBois was service manager at Sheppard's Chevrolet in Winamac for 23 years. He then retired and moved to New Mexico where he ran King Zale Mobile Home Service. He moved back to Winamac in 1990. His last employer was Rife Heavy Duty Equipment in Winamac. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the VFW Post #1728 in Winamac. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and traveling. He loved his children and grandchildren very much.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday (Feb.1), at the funeral home with Pastor Harold Leininger II officiating. Burial will be in McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac. The VFW and American Legion will conduct military graveside services.
Memorial donations may be given to the Life Care Center of Rochester.
Edna L. Ruff
August 5, 1926 to January 23, 2013
WINAMAC - Edna Lois Ruff, 86, Star City, passed away at 2:35 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Hickory Creek, Winamac.
She was born Aug. 5, 1926, to the late Delos Sylvan and Luella Mullins Myers. She married Harold F. "Bud" Ruff Jr., who passed away Jan. 19, 2013.
Mrs. Ruff was a former employee of the Medaryville Garment Factory and Barco's Orchard. She also was a full time farm wife. Lois loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and any children around her.
No services will be held.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
Frain Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
