Dora M. Risner

MEDARYVILLE - Dora M. Risner, 98, of North Judson, passed away at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 7, at Miller's Merry Manor, Culver.
She was born Dec. 6, 1915 in Carver, KY to the late Leander and Minnie Marshall Jackson. She married Fred Risner on Dec. 24, 1932, in Knox. He passed away in February 1969.

Mrs. Risner was a member of the Medaryville Christian Church, where she had taught Sunday School and had been active in the Ladies Aid. She was also a former 4-H Leader in Cass Township. She was a loving wife and mother. She was a very hard worker. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, canning, and sewing. Throughout her lifetime, she had also worked at Kingsbury Ordinance Plant and as an aid in numerous health care facilities. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Medaryville; and one hour prior to services at the church Monday. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Monday (Aug. 11), at Medaryville Christian Church, Medaryville, with Don Nedza officiating. Burial will be at White Post Cemetery, Medaryville.
Memorial donations may be given to Medaryville Christian Church or Gideon's International.
Ora R. Baker
February 8, 1925 to August 7, 2014
MEDARYVILLE - Ora R. Baker, 89, of Medaryville, died 12:50 p.m Thursday, Aug. 7, at the Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.
He was born Feb. 8, 1925 in Liberty Township, White County, to the late George Ray and Turrissie Rex Baker. On June 19, 1948, he married Alberta S. Rhode in Medaryville. She survives.

Mr. Baker served in the US Army during World War II with 101st Airborne Medical Company. He was a member of the Medaryville American Legion Post #96. He was a member of the Medaryville Christian Church. He had worked 33 years at Thermo Products in North Judson.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Medaryville. The funeral ervice will follow at 11 a.m. (Tuesday, Aug. 12), at the funeral home with Don Nedza officiating. Burial will be at White Post Cemetery, Medaryville. The American Legion will conduct military graveside services.
Memorial donations may be given to Medaryville Christian Church.
Opal I. Losh
November 18, 1944 to August 7, 2014
FRANCESVILLE - Opal Irene "Oppie" Losh, 69, of Lafayette, (formerly of Francesville and Winamac) passed away at 12:35 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 7, at Signature Health Care of Lafayette.
She was born Nov. 18, 1944 in Francesville to the late Ernest Victor and Dorothy Mae Shephard Losh.

Ms. Losh grew up in Francesville and lived many years in Winamac, where she worked at McDonald's. She was very active with Pulaski Developmental Services in Winamac. In 2000, she moved to Lafayette where she enjoyed working at Wabash Industries. She loved animals and enjoyed crafts, riding bicycles, and music. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday (Aug. 9), at Roseland Cemetery, Francesville, with burial to follow in the family plot.
Memorial donations may be given to the funeral home.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Francesville.
Clara B. Roudebush
March 3, 1927 to August 7, 2014
WINAMAC - Clara B. Roudebush, 87, of Winamac, passed away at 12:10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 7, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Mashell, in Winamac.
She was born March 3, 1927, in Clarksdale, MS, to the late James and Maddy Oneal Earwood. She married Brooks Roudebush on May 29, 1965 in Winamac. He died Aug. 13, 1998.

In 1945 Mrs. Roudebush became a charter member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary in Winamac. She was an active member for 69 years. She helped to organize the first PARC Center Christmas Party and continued to be a part of the celebration annually. Throughout the years she served in all official capacities in the Auxillary. She was also a member and former president and secretary of the Winamac Kiwanis Club. She served as district Lt. Governor twice. She was instrumental in starting the Culver and Rensselaer Kiwanis Clubs. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Winamac.
Mrs. Roudebush was the former co-owner of the Moss Creek Golf Club in Winamac for 29 years. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed interacting with the customers. She was an active organizer of the women's golf leagues. She was also an avid bowler. She enjoyed bowling in tournaments across the country. In addition, she was the former owner of Clara's Tax Service in Winamac for over 40 years. She demonstrated astute business skills that she inherited from her mother. She loved dancing. She taught ball room dancing at the YMCA for several years. She always had a smile on her face and she never met a stranger. She had a zest for life that was contagious. She had a passion for enjoying time with family and friends.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Sunday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The Winamac Kiwanis will conduct a service at 7 p.m., followed by a service by the VFW Ladies Auxillary. A celebration of Clara’s life will be shared at the funeral service at 10:30 a.m., Monday (Aug, 11), at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Abbott officiating. Burial will be at McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac.

Dollie Frinkel
September 22, 1942 to July 28, 2014
WHEATFIELD - Dollie Frinkel, 71, Winamac, passed away Monday, July 28, from injuries suffered in an auto accident west of Winamac.
She was born Sept. 22, 1942 in Decoy, McGoffin County, Ky.
She is survived by her husband Paul Frinkel; son Lonnie (Connie) Howard; 3 grandchildren, Lonnie Howard Jr., Ballard John Howard, and Shane Curtis Howard; 3 great-grandchildren, Jaydan Howard, Macey Howard, Dominic Howard; and siblings Mabel Bailey, Molly Miller, Richard Lovely and Floyd Lovely.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ballard Lovely Jr., and a daughter, Tina Marie Lovely.
Mrs. Frinkel was a laborer and factory worker. She attended the Goodway Baptist Church, Medaryville.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 9 to 11 a.m., Friday, at Goodway Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. (Friday, Aug. 1), at the church with Pastor James Rowe officiating. Interment will follow at Independence Cemetery.

Betty L. Reynolds
June 15, 1920 to August 3, 2014
WINAMAC - Betty Lou Reynolds, 94, of Winamac, died at 11:37 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 3, at Pulaski Healthcare Center, Winamac.
She was born June 15, 1920, in Winamac, to the late Chris and Hazel Marie Strong Frazier. She married Chester F. Reynolds on May 12, 1939 Crown Point. He died Janu. 7, 1983.

Mrs. Reynolds was a member of the Eastern Star. She attended the First Christian Church in Winamac. She had worked as a waitress in Winamac. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Arizona.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m., (Wednesday, Aug. 6), at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Abbott officiating. Burial will be at McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac.
Memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Association.
Donald Fisher
October 13, 1926 to July 24, 2014
ROYAL CENTER - Donald “Ed” Fisher, 87, of Star City passed away at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 24, at Hickory Creek of Winamac.
Born Oct. 13, 1926 in LaPorte, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Mary (Hall) Fisher. On April 18, 1950 he married Olive R. Shidler. She preceded him in death on Aug. 25, 2008.

Survivors include his children, Pamela S. Olson (Swede) of Valparaiso, Jane A. Scheffer (Harvey) of Winamac and Donald E. Fisher, Jr. (Janet) of Winamac, step son, Jerry Mays (Peggy) of Winamac, sisters, Kathryn Moore (Leroy) of Iowa, Yvonna Nacke of Swayzee, Barbara Fisher of Logansport and Madaline Sommers of Thornhope, 12 grandchildren, many great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, Charles, James, and George Fisher and brothers-in-law, Richard Sommers and Al Nacke and sisters-in-law, Darlene and Evelyn Fisher.
Mr. Fisher was a 1945 Star City High School graduate. He was also a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He owned and operated Fisher’s Soft Water Service in Star City for over 50 years. He was a member of Star City United Methodist Church and he enjoyed his family and making people laugh.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday, at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday (July 28), at the funeral home with Pastor Ruth Waite officiating. Burial with military rites will be performed at Star City West Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Pulaski County Senior Center.
