John Gregory Weed, 70, of Winamac, died Monday, Sept. 29, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 23, 1944. He was a resident of Franklin Township.

No services will be held. Private burial will take place at Mt. Zion-Franklin Township Cemetery in Winamac.

Memorial donations may be given to the Mt. Zion-Franklin Township Cemetery.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Frain Mortuary, Winamac. 

Marjorie M. Larkin

October 10, 1923 to September 25, 2014

WINAMAC - Marjorie Maud Larkin, 91, of Winamac, died at 1:16 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 25, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.

She was born Jan. 10, 1923, to the late Dallas and Lutie Davis Parish. She married William Edward Larkin on Nov. 14, 1945. He died Nov. 17, 1998.

Mrs. Larkin's life revolved around her family and community. Her love, guidance, support and amazing food can never be replaced. Her strength and courage was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m., Sunday (Sept. 28), at St. Peter's Cemetery, Winamac. Immediately following, there will a celebration of Marge’s life from 3 to 6 p.m., at the home of Kevin and Brandi Larkin, the family farm, 2202 S 50 E, Winamac. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery, Winamac.

Elizabeth A. Flores

December 5, 1951 to September 18, 2014

WINAMAC - Elizabeth A. "Liz" Flores, 62, of Winamac, died at 12:08 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 18, at her daughter's home in Winamac..

She was born on Dec. 5, 1951 in Hobbs, NM to Carl and June Williams Galbreath.

Mrs. Flores worked many years as an insurance agent in Texas, where she raised her three children. In 2002, she moved to Winamac to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. She knew Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.

No services for visitation will be held.

Isabelle I. Cervenka

February 27, 1926 to September 17, 2014

FRANCESVILLE - Isabelle Ida Cervenka, 88, of Francesville, died at 12:50 p.m., Wednesday, Sept.17, at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born Feb. 27, 1926 in Francesville to the late Fred Carl and Anna R. Miller Rohloff. She married William F. Cervenka on Aug. 19, 1950 in Francesville. He survives.

Mrs. Cervenka graduated from Francesville High School in 1944 and Purdue University in 1948 with a degree in home economics. She was a school teacher and taught several years at San Pierre High School. She also taught part time in the Pulaski County Schools. She was a member of the St. James-Salem United Church of Christ in Francesville where she also taught Sunday School. She served as a board member of the Francesville-Salem Township Library for several years. She was a proud homemaker and enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, and baking. She treasured her time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She very much enjoyed attending their sporting events.She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Francesville, and one hour prior to services Monday at the church. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Monday (Sept. 22), at St. James-Salem United Church of Christ, Francesville, with Rev. T.J. Jenney and Rev. Judith Doll officiating. Burial will be at Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.

Memorial donations may be given to St. James-Salem United Church of Christ or Francesville-Salem Township Library.

Nancy L. Gravenor

December 1, 1925 to September 15, 2014

FRANCESVILLE - Nancy Lee Gravenor, 88, of South Bend, passed away at 6 A.M., Monday, Sept. 15, at her residence.

She was born Dec. 1, 1925 in Francesville, to the late James and Winnifred Dalton. She married Donald Gravenor on Dec. 3, 1983. He passed away on Sept. 23, 2012.

Mrs. Gravenor graduated from Francesville High School and St. Elizabeth School of Nursing, Lafayette. She had worked as a registered nurse at the American Embassy in Caracas, Venezuela. After moving back to Francesville, she worked as a registered nurse at Jasper County Hospital in Rensselaer. She retired in 1983. 

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m., Thursday, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Francesville. A memorial service will follow at 5 p.m., (Thursday, Sept. 18), at the funeral home with Pastor Shawn Evans officiating. Private burial will be at Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.

Memorial donations may be given to Roseland Cemetery.

Dennis E. Hartley

May 5, 1979 to September 4, 2014

DEMOTTE - Dennis E. Hartley, 35, of Wheatfield, passed away Thursday, Sept. 4,

He was born May 5, 1979, in Duluth, Minn. to Dennis R. Hartley and Regina E. Galloway.

He is survived by his wife Holly (Phegley); children, Bryant, Ariana and Derek; parents, Dennis R. (Judith) Hartley of Francesville, and Regina E. Peloquin of Jennings, LA; sister, Michelle Hartley of Anderson, S. C.; brothers, Shane (Roxann) Hartley of Medaryville, and Air Force SMSgt. Chad (Melissa) Hartley of Alconbury, England.

Mr. Hartley was a 1997 graduate of West Central High School. He was a member of the Electrical Union, IBEW 697. He was an avid fisherman and Notre Dame fan.

Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Jackson Funeral Service in DeMotte, with a funeral service following at 7 p.m., (Tuesday, Sept. 9) at the funeral home with Pastor Tony King officiating. (In honor of Dennis, please dress casually in your Notre Dame attire.)

Bradley A. Penicaro

December 19, 1955 to September 12, 2014

ROCHESTER - Bradley Allen Penicaro, 58, of Kewanna, passed away at 5:52 p.m., Friday, Sept. 12, at St. Vincent Hospital of Carmel.

On Dec. 19, 1955, he was born in Winamac to the late Frank and Annabelle Stepp Penicaro. He married Cathy Ann Reinhold on Dec. 6, 1974 at the Calvary Baptist Church of Winamac. She survives.

Also surviving are a daughter: Gina Oaf and husband Michael of Royal Center; two sons: David Penicaro and companion Jo Lynn Behny Plowman of Winamac; Steve Penicaro, of Ocean Springs, MS; 8 grandchildren: Spencer Penicaro, Alexis Penicaro, Ryan Oaf, Daulton Oaf, Bradley Penicaro, Anthony Penicaro, Michael Richard Oaf, Hunter Moses; a great granddaughter: Paisyn Johnson; two sisters: Tina Kasten and husband Mike of Winamac; Penni Hilton and husband Floyd of Yuma, AZ; two brothers, Dan Penicaro and wife Ellen of Greenville, SC; Timothy Penicaro of Rochester; sister-in-law: Debra Penicaro of Star City and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his grandparents, a brother: James Penicaro and several aunts and uncles.

Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday; and one hour prior to the service at the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St., Rochester. A celebration of the life of Bradley Allen Penicaro will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, (Sept. 18), at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Norris officiating. Interment will be in McKinley Memorial Gardens, Winamac.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Fulton County Cancer Fund through the Northern Indiana Community Foundation.
