Mrs. Korner began her career in accounting at Ryerson Steel in Chicago. While living on the farm, she not only raised her four children (not an easy task), but worked ground, hauled grain and made sure there were delicious meals on the table. She ended her career in the office at the Sohigro fertilizer plant in Star City. She gave of her time helping others, especially her kids, as a Cub Scout den mother, religious education teacher, taxi driver, church volunteer and most recently working the gift shop at the hospital. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and the Pulaski Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, playing euchre, fishing, golfing, painting, creating personalized greeting cards, photography and any and all adventures. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Those who had the privilege to know her would say she was kind, witty and generous.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 18, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Winamac, where there will also be a scripture service at 3 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 19, at the church. Burial will be at the Winamac Cemetery, McKinley Addition.
