FRANCESVILLE - Kathleen June [Honegger] Manion, 84, formerly of Monticello, passed away Thursday, April 27, at Taylor Springs Health Campus in Gahanna, Ohio.

She was born April 10, 1939, in Francesville, to Herman and Ida [Quasebarth] Honegger. During her childhood, she enjoyed spending time with her parents and her brothers and sister on their family farm. She graduated from Francesville High School in 1957, and she married high school sweetheart Fred Aldon Manion in 1958. They celebrated 60 years of marriage before his passing in 2019.

Preceded in death by parents and husband

Mrs. Manion and her husband lived most of their lives in Monticello. They attended St. James Salem United Church of Christ in Francesville. She was a homemaker, and a devoted mother and grandmother. The couple enjoyed traveling with their sons to many national parks during their marriage. In later life, the Manions enjoyed traveling to Alaska and Hawaii with friends and on fishing trips with their adult children.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 4, at Roseland Cemetery in Francesville, with Rev. Nelda Seger officiating. Burial will follow at the cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. James Salem United Church of Christ.
