WINAMAC - George Joseph Stinemetz, 82, of Winamac, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 29, at his home.
He was born Oct. 2, 1939 in Cincinnati, to the late Albert Durant and Agnes Marie [Kleem] Stinemetz. He graduated from Winamac High School in 1959. On June 23, 1984, he married Judy [Shannon] Tarble. She passed away Feb. 8, 2020.

Mr. Stinemetz worked at Rockwell International in Knox, for many years, and retired from Galbreath, Inc. in Winamac. He was a charter member of the Winamac Moose Lodge #2513. He was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed fishing and playing cards. He took great pride in his lawn and flowers and was the unofficial neighborhood watchman. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 5, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 6, at the funeral home with Pastor Heath Hiatt officiating. Private family burial will be at Mt. Zion Franklin Twp. Cemetery in Winamac.
