Gregory M. Loehmer

August 17, 1967 to March 15, 2021

ROYAL CENTER - Gregory Mathias Loehmer, 53, of Winamac passed peacefully in his sleep at 9:41 p.m., Monday, March 15, at home surrounded by his family.

Born Aug. 17, 1967 in Winamac, he was the son of Ronald and Judy Bair Loehmer. He was a 1985 Winamac Community High School graduate where he developed his love of carpentry and building skills.

Survivors include his children, Kaleigh (fiancé, Tyler Shaffer) Loehmer of Winamac, Kassidy (Michael) Issa of Kokomo and Kole (Rick Martinez) Loehmer of Indianapolis; Marilyn Krohn Newman (fiancée) of Winamac and her children, Meghan (John Swinford) Newman of Indianapolis, Eric (Erika Vannarsdall, fiancée) Newman of West Lafayette; parents, Ronald and Judy Loehmer of Winamac; sister, Kimberly (Robert) Adamski of Winamac; grandchildren, Karter Loehmer and Emori Shaffer both of Winamac; and nieces and nephews, Nic (Caty) Kasten  of Winamac, Natalie (Carl) Reynolds of Bluffton and Eric (Kara) Kasten of Winamac.

Mr. Loehmer was a longtime employee of Plymouth Tube in Winamac where he gained many friends over the years. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the UAW Local #1448. He was active in Pulaski County 4-H over the years. He enjoyed raising livestock, working in carpentry, and was always willing to help someone in need. Friends and family enjoyed his sense of humor and his “bad dad” jokes. Anyone who knew him felt his love for life and compassion for others.  He had an unwavering passion to his faith and serving the Lord. He had such a strong love and dedication for his family. He was looking forward to marrying his fiancée, Marilyn, and combining their two families.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 18th, 2021 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, Royal Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 19th, 2021 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Winamac with Father Daniel Shine officiating. Burial will be at St. Peters Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
