Joseph H. Huddleston
WINAMAC - Joseph Hayes Huddleston, 78, of Ashburn, VA (formerly of Vienna, VA) passed away on April 22, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with Parkinson 's disease.
Born in Lexington, KY, he was the only child of the late Col. Joseph J. (USAF) and Dorothy Hoesel Huddleston.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Huddleston; two daughters, Julie (Ken) Freyberger and Jill (Chad) McClelland; and five grandchildren, Nicole, Alec and Brady Freyberger, and Gwyn and Charlie McClelland.
Mr. Huddleston was a devoted father and grandfather and married to his wife for 54 years. He attended The College of William & Mary, served in the U.S. Air Force, and worked for the U.S. Treasury Department (U.S. Customs) until his retirement in 1996. In his retirement, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, reading, cycling on the Washington & Old Dominion Trail, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a loyal parishioner and Sunday school teacher at Vienna Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Huddleston will be laid to rest in Winamac - the birthplace of his parents and the source of many fond memories.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 22, at Winamac Cemetery with Rev. Dave Marty officiating.
