Cash Holbrook

March 16, 1927 to February 16, 2019

WINAMAC - Cash Holbrook, 91, of Knox passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, at Starke Memorial Hospital, Knox.

He was born March 16, 1927 in Brainard, KY to the late Isom and Lula Allen Holbrook. On Aug. 2, 1989, He married Colleen May Dickson Risner. She died May 23, 1995.

He is survived by:

Mr. Holbrook served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a life member of the Knox VFW and American Legion. He was a talented automatic transmission technician, having worked at several area dealerships before owning and operating his own business "Kash's Transmission" in Knox for many years. After retirement, he enjoyed the morning coffee groups at McDonald's and Fingerhut Bakery in Knox. He enjoyed making and sharing candy with family and friends. He also enjoyed bluegrass and country music as well as the outdoors, especially gardening and bird watching. He was a NASCAR fan, always rooting for Jeff Gordon #24. In his younger years, he was an avid hunter and trapper. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 22, at the funeral home with Rev. David Broad officiating. Burial will be at Winamac Cemetery, Winamac. The VFW and American Legion will conduct military graveside services.
