Stanley E. Gudeman
November 2, 1925 to November 30, 2017
SUN CITY WEST, Ariz. - Stanley E. Gudeman 92, Sun City West, Ariz., passed away Thursday, Nov. 30.
He was born in Francesville, on Nov. 2, 1925, to the late Bert and Eliza (Getz) Gudeman.
He is survived by Jean, his wife of 59 years, and his children: Sharon (Stoney Burke), David, Robert (June) and Edward (Sheryl). He is also survived by seven grandchildren (Brock, Brett, Mark, TJ, Angel, Travis and Niki) as well as his brother Dean and his sisters Judy and Kathleen and their families.
Mr. Gudeman was a veteran of World War II, serving in Gen. Douglas MacArthur's headquarters in Manila, Philippines and Tokyo, Japan. Following graduation from Indiana University in 1949 and Moody Bible Institute in Chicago in 1954, he began serving the Lord as a missionary in Venezuela. After one term, and while on furlough, he married his wife Jean, and together they returned to Venezuela to serve for 6-1/2 more years. They moved to Arizona in June of 1967 and he worked as business manager for a medical group for 23 years. Together with his wife, he was a member of Bethany Bible Church for 35 years. Following their move to Sun City West, they became members of Trinity Bible Church of Sun City West.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 22, at Trinity Bible Church, Sun City West.
