Berla Ralph

April 26, 1932 to January 24, 2011

ROYAL CENTER - Berla Ralph, 78 of Star City, passed away at 3:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 24, at Monticello Assisted Living & Healthcare, Monticello.

Born April 26, 1932 in Coleman County, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Rouse) Carlisle. On Sept. 26, 1974 she married Eugene Ralph. He survives.

Also surviving are sons, David (Barb) McLeroy of Poland, Ohio, Joseph “JD” (Connie) McLeroy of Hanna, and Robert (Pam) Dooley of Marengo, Ill., daughters, Jackie (Rory) Dimos of Hobart, Laura (Jim) Dooley of Star City, Bonnie Drabek of Aurora, Ill. and Jackie Moore of Miller Beach. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, David, Cindy, Joe, Sarah, Emily, Michelle, John, Kelly, Erica, Chris, Rachel and Faith. She was also survived by 10 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by 7 brothers and 4 sisters.

Mrs. Ralph worked as a waitress for over 50 years, beginning at Mama Puntillo’s in Highland and later working at the Indian Head Restaurant, V.F.W. and the Bowling Alley all in Winamac and most recently at Oak Grove Restaurant in Star City. She was a member of Star City United Methodist Church and V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday,  at Star City United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday (Jan. 27), at the church with one hour of calling prior to the service. Pastor Ron Mabry will officiate. Burial will be at Star City West Cemetery.
