FRANCESVILLE - Ida M. Allen, 99, of Monticello, passed away at 10:55 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 30, at Monticello Healthcare.

She was born on Sept. 18, 1916 in Greenup County, Ky., to the late Ed and Jessie Callihan Rayburn. She married Joseph Allen in 1934 and he preceded her in death.

Ricky Allen, Grandson 
Sherry Allen, Granddaughter 
Debra (Doug) Chenoweth, Granddaughter 
Diana Smith, Granddaughter 
11 Great grandchildren 
8 Great Great Grandchildren 
Blanche Allen, Greenup County, Ky., Sister 
Hubert Rayburn, Greenup County, Ky., Brother 
Several Nieces and Nephews

Lana Renae Allen, Infant Granddaughter 
4 Sisters and 2 Brothers 

Mrs. Allen and her husband moved to Jasper County in 1946 where they made their home and raised their family. She was a member of the Medaryville Christian Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, and canning. She was an avid gardener and raised all the food she needed to feed her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family and nursing home staff were looking forward to celebrating her 100th birthday.The family wishes to thank the staff of Monticello Healthcare for their loving care of Ida over the last 12 years.

Private burial will be at White Post Cemetery, Medaryville.

Memorial donations may be given to Monticello Healthcare.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Francesville.
