Robert K. Fransen

June 9, 2948 to June 8, 2016

WINAMAC - Robert Kenneth Fransen, 67, of Pulaski, passed away at 12:44 p.m., Wednesday,June 8, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.

He was born June 9, 1948, in Harvey, IL, to the late Kenneth and Edith Tysen Fransen. He married Patricia J. Miller in 1980. She died Jan. 21, 2003.

Jennifer (Jeffrey) Gallus, Matteson, IL, Daughter
Kenneth  J.C. Fransen, Knox,  Son
Robert Edward Piontek, Winamac,  Step son 
Grandchildren Ryan Hopkins, Jessica Fransen, Kevin Fransen, Christine Fransen, and
Haley Rugg.
Daniel (Kristine) Fransen, Midlothian, IL,  Brother

Mr. Fransen worked as an assembler at Ford Motor Co. in Chicago, for 30 years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion. He served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam war. He enjoyed building model cars, rebuilding cars and attending car shows. He especially loved everything about pre-1964 cars. He was active in the Romin’ Chariots car club with his son Philip. He often raced at Raceway Park and raced his Mustang "Phony Pony" at US 30 drag strip as a young man. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the VFW in Winamac.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, June 11, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac.  A celebration of life service will follow at 3 p.m., at the funeral home. Cremation will follow services. The VFW and American Legion will conduct military rites at the funeral home following services.

Memorial donations may be given to VFW Post 1728 Winamac.
