Jackie L. Shoemaker

April 25, 1938 to May 12, 2016

WINAMAC - Jackie Lee "Jack" Shoemaker, 78, of Loganspor (formerly of Star City and Kewanna), passed away at 3:20 p.m., Thursday, May 12, at Miller's Merry Manor, Logansport.

He was born April 25, 1938 in Andrews, IN to the late Franklin A. and Mary Lucille Brown Shoemaker.

Survivors include:

April Koons, Logansport, Daughter
Deanna Lee (Jim) Marling, Rapid City, SD, Daughter
Mary Francis (Butch) Fox, Spokane, WA, Daughter
Many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren

Patsy Ann Roth Shoemaker, Wife
Sharon Rebecca Hershberger, Sister

In 1956, Jack joined the US Army and while in service he received his GED from the Armed Forces Institute.  He was a lifelong truck driver.  In 1971, Jack received a Gas and Arc Welding diploma from Lewis Cass High School. He was a member of the Catholic faith. He was a former Eagle Scout and Boy Scout Leader.  He was also a former member of the Tipton Lodge #33 F&AM.  He was a lifetime member of the NRA. He was also a member of Moose Lodge #232, Fraternal Order of Eagles #2580, American Legion #60, and VFW Men's Auxiliary #3790. He was a competitive shooter and marksman.  He enjoyed  the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and horseback riding. He will be missed. 

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Monday, May 16, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman officiating. The American Legion and VFW will conduct full military honors at the funeral home. Private burial will be at a later date at St. Joseph Cemetery South, Pulaski.

Memorial donations may be given to the funeral home to help the family with funeral expenses.
