Leo Siemens

August 16, 1929 to March 31, 2016

MEDARYVILLE - Leo J. Siemens, 86, of Medaryville, died 7:01 a.m., Thursday, March 31,  at Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.

He was born on Aug. 16, 1929 in Secor, IL to the late Herman and Tamma Rosenbaum Siemens.  On Aug. 10, 1949, he married Agnes R. Winter in Logansport. His wife of 66 years survives.

Mr. Siemens was a lifelong farmer in the Medaryville area and also owned Siemens Insurance Agency  He enjoyed helping his children and grandchildren with their 4-H beef and foods projects. He was a charter member of the Medaryville Lions Club, also serving as Past District Governor and Past Council Chairman in the State of Indiana.  He was a former member of the Pulaski County School Board, West Central Education Foundation, Pulaski County Fair Board, Medaryville Sesquicentennial Board, Potato Fest Committee, and the Community Foundation of Pulaski County. He also had served as White Post Township Trustee. Most recently, he had been selected as a torch bearer for the Bicentennial Torch Relay in Pulaski County this October. Mr. Siemens loved his family very much, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be sadly missed.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Monday, April 4, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Medaryville. A Lion’s memorial service will be at 6 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 5, at the funeral home with Pastor James Ketchen officiating. Burial will be at Bowman-White Post Cemetery, Francesville.

Memorial donations may be given to Indiana Lions.
