Florence J. Baldwin

July 27, 1930 to March 19, 2016

KEWANNA - Florence J. Baldwin, 85 of Kewanna passed away at 3:05 p.m., Saturday, March 19, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Born on July 27, 1930 in Winamac, she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Mary (Young) Stepp. On Nov. 29, 1947 she married Richard C. Baldwin. He preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 1987.

Survivors include her children, Larry Baldwin (Bev), Steve Baldwin (Pam), Charles “Chuck” Baldwin (Barbie), Tami Powell (Rich) and Deana Thomas (Bryan), all of Kewanna; and sister, Marilyn McCormick (Bob) of Elizabethtown, Ky.

Also, grandchildren, Stephanie Griesch (Kurt), Laurie Paulik (Jeff), Jennifer Mikesell, Scott Baldwin (Becky), Shawna Amit (Jonathen), Lisa Barr, Scotty Oliver (Gillian), Christopher Baldwin (Keila), Charlie Baldwin, Cody Baldwin, Chanse Baldwin, Brittney Schroder (Jake), Caleb Baldwin (Rachelle Sherman), Traci Leininger (Tony), Trent Powell (Janet Daake), Trish Forry (Brent), Brandi Thomas, Courtney Thomas (Clinton Shepherd) and Whitney Thomas (Charles Roland).

Also, great-grandchildren, Beatrice Griesch, Carson Paulik, Adrian Paulik, Brianne Paulik, Keisha Mikesell (Danny Maggart), Autumn Mikesell, Trey Mikesell, Hannah Baldwin, Evan Baldwin, Naomi Baldwin, Tessa Baldwin, Dovev Amit, Miya Amit, Micah Amit, Landrew Barr, Chandler Patterson, Hadley Gray, Noah Oliver and Aileen Oliver, Trent Cripe, McKenzie Baldwin, Avery Baldwin, Kayden Baldwin, Aleah Baldwin, Parker Baldwin, Emmett Leininger, Abigail Powell, Ivy Powell, Mitchell Powell, Grace Daake, Zak Daake, Ava Forry, Parker Forry, Ashlyn Bailey, Corbyn Bailey, Elijah Holloway, Isaiah Riddle, Anaiah Dulin, Rianne Stier, Josh Shepherd and Karter Shepherd; and great-great-grandchildren, McKenley Ward and Mason Maggart.

She was also preceded in death by brother, James Stepp and sisters, Arnabelle Penicaro, Phyllis Jo Cochran and Janice Kay “Butch” Stepp.

Mrs. Baldwin had been a waitress at the Mar-Lo Restaurant in Kewanna, and she formerly owned and operated Baldwin Sundries in Kewanna for many years, and then retired from Winamac Coil Spring in Kewanna. She was a member of Kewanna United Methodist Church where she was active in the Food Pantry Ministry as well as the UM Women. She was also a former member of the Kewanna Union-Township Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking, and playing Yahtzee with her best friend, Virginia Agnew.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 22, at Kewanna United Methodist Church; and also one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 23, at the church with Pastor Todd Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Citizens I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Kewanna.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kewanna Food Pantry Ministry.
