Elizabeth Parcel

July 7, 1933 to March 1, 2016

WINAMAC - Elizabeth A. "Betty" Parcel, 82, of Star City, passed away at 4:05 a.m., Tuesday, March 1, at the White Oak Health Campus in Monticello.

She was born July 7, 1933, in Winamac, to the late Peter and Martha Wills Wegner. She married Darl Dean Parcel on March 2, 1957 in St. Peter's Catholic Church in Winamac. He died Jan. 21, 2003.

Mrs. Parcel worked as a bookkeeper and Star City branch manager of the First Union Bank for many years. She also had worked in the Pulaski County Treasurer's office and auditor's office for several years. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. She volunteered for the Pulaski Memorial Auxiliary for many years. She was a member and past president of the Star City Lions Club and was a long time secretary/treasurer of the Pulaski County Democrats ladies group. She was a member of Bunco Club and Book Club and Red Hat Society. She was recognized as a  Pulaski County Woman of the year. She especially enjoyed lunch with her former co-workers. She and her husband enjoyed, golfing, square dancing and doing woodworking projects together. She also enjoyed painting and crocheting. Her proudest achievement was being a farmer's wife for many years. She will be sadly missed by her family, especially her nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 3, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. A scriptural wake service will be at 3 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 4, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Winamac, with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman officiating. Burial will be at Star City West Cemetery, Star City.

Memorial donations may be given to Star City Lions Club or American Heart Fund.
