After completing high school, Mr. Lowry received a bachelor's degree in pastoral ministries from Olivet Nazarene University. From an early age, his heart desired to serve the Lord. While at Olivet, he was blessed with many opportunities to serve God and grow as a leader. He was very outgoing and active in student life. In 2011, he received the Student Lincoln Laureate Award for his outstanding achievements in academics and extracurricular activities. He served as: student body president; a member of the homecoming court; vice co-chair of the Nazarene Student Leadership Association (NSLA); a member of the Food Service Committee; vice president for publicity for Seventh Reel Film Club; Associated Student Council (ASC) Social Life Committee; and in 2010, he was selected by his peers as "Mr. ONU".
He was an active member of the Winamac Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed music, especially following the Christian band UnderOath. He was an avid Boston Bruins fan and a Star Wars enthusiast. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially boating and fishing. His dog, Thomas and his cat, Fredrick were very special to him. He loved his family very deeply and will be dearly missed. He would want everyone to remember him as happy and outgoing, living life with a passion for the Lord.
