WINAMAC - August F. "Augie" Ziebell Jr., 88,  of Winamac, died at 4:22 a.m., Friday, Jan. 9, at his residence in Winamac.

He was born Aug. 13, 1926, in Oaklawn, IL, to the late August Gustav Sr. and Elizabeth Anna Evans Ziebell. He married Mary J. Graves Olds on Dec. 1, 1962. She died March 7, 2007.

9 grandchildren
Several great-grandchildren

Shirley Armstrong Banks Gilmer, TX, Sister

Mr. Ziebell worked in the Chicago stock yards as a young man. He moved to Winamac and farmed for most of his life. He was a member of the Lutheran church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He enjoyed gardening and telling stories.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 14, the funeral home with Rev. Edward Clark officiating. Burial will be at McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac. The VFW and American Legion will conduct military graveside services.
