Ernest R. Heims
February 18, 1929 to May 18, 2014
WINAMAC - Ernest "Ernie" R. Heims, 75, of Winamac, died at 10 p.m., Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Hickory Creek, Winamac.
He was born Feb. 18, 1939, in Beardstown, to the late Merlyn and Blanche Clark Heims. He married Winnifred "Winnie" M. Landis on June 15, 1963 in Plumsteadville, PA. She survives.

Mr. Heims served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1961. He graduated from Winamac High School in 1957. He was a member of the Tippecanoe Christian Church. He served as a Deacon and a Sunday School teacher of the church. He was employed as a truck driver for North Express Co, Galbreath Inc. and the Lone Wolf Trucking Co.He enjoyed reading and mowing the yard. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He really enjoyed spending time with kids.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday (May 22), at the funeral home with George Landis and Rev. Edward Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Tippecanoe Cemetery, Winamac. The VFW and American Legion will conduct a military graveside tribute.
