Larry Lee Leasure
January 30, 1940 to August 20, 2010
KEWANNA - Larry Lee Leasure, 70 of Kewanna, passed away at 2:45 a.m., Friday, Aug. 20, at the Yellow Rose Hospice Unit at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born Jan. 30, 1940 in Pulaski County, he was the son of the late Herold and Vivian (Scott) Leasure. On Jan. 7, 1961 he was married in Star City to (Mary) Linda Markley. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Michael L. Leasure of Battleground; daughter, Trudy L. Southe and her husband Ed of Plymouth; grandchildren, Gregory D. and Erik L. Gottschalk and Skye L. Leasure.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Joan Warner, Maxine Hessong and Monna Lou Brincefield.
Mr. Leasure was a 1958 Star City High School graduate and a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1958-1961 as vehicle mechanic and later as a medic. He formerly worked as a heavy equipment operator for Lebo and Markley in Winamac. He also worked at Tee-Pak in Winamac. He retired as a computerized numerical control machinist for Fulton Industries in Rochester. He was a member of Star City United Methodist Church, Amalgamated Meat Packers Union, V.F.W. Post #1121 in Kewanna and National Wildlife Federation.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday (Aug. 24), at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, 123 E. Main St., Kewanna. Services will be private.
