Dorman R. Wolff Jr.
September 20, 1936 to January 11, 2013
WALKERTON - Dorman R. Wolff Jr., 76, of Winamac, formerly of Elkhart and South Bend, passed away at 6:55 p.m., Friday, Jan. 11, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, after an extended illness.
He was born on Sept. 20, 1936, in South Bend, to the late Dorman Sr. and Mary Waneta (Bromley) Wolff. He married Patricia A. Shippy on Sept. 27, 1958, in New Carlisle. She survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Barry E. Wolff of Winamac, Dorman D. (Cecille) Wolff of Albuquerque, N.M., Mark R. (Kathryn) Wolff of Kodak, TN, and James M. (Gina) Wolff of Mishawaka; a sister, Meriem B. Letherman of South Bend; a brother, John C. Wolff of Kennewick, Washington; eight grandchildren, Zach, Mitch, Ryan, Rachel, Emilly, Karly, Alicia and Sophie; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Corpe, and a grandson, Graham R. Wolff.
Mr. Wolff resided in the Winamac area for the past eight years, coming from the Elkhart and South Bend area. He retired from Raco Corporation located in South Bend in 1999 after many years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served with the 82nd Airborne Unit. He was a member of the Winamac American Legion Post 71. His hobbies were golfing, ice fishing, and all sports. He was an avid Notre Dame football fan, Green Bay Packers fan, and Chicago White Sox fan. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and all who had the opportunity to know this wonderful man during his life journey.
Mr. Wolff's wishes were to be cremated and remembered in life. His family honored his wishes. There will be no visitation hours or funeral services. A graveside service with military rites will take place at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 17th, at Highland Cemetery, South Bend, with Pastor Vickie VanNevel officiating.
The family request that all memorial donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
