Leona G. Eshelman
January 13, 1927 to January 14, 2012
GLENDALE, ARIZ. - Leona G. Eshelman, 85, died on Jan. 14 at Southwest Care Center in Peoria, Ariz. following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
She was born on Jan. 13, 1927 in Winamac, the daughter of the late Clement Vernon and Mary Theresa Zellers. She first married William L. Wise. She later married Henry R. Eshelman, M.D.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Eshelman; two daughters: Linda L. Wise and Julianne [Bruce] Chambers; a son, David [Roxanne] Wise; two grandchildren, David Ian and Jennifer Chambers; one great-grandchild, Ian; a stepson, Kenneth [Rhonda] Eshelman.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Eileen Zellers.
Mrs. Eshelman worked as a bookkeeper. She later assisted her husband in his medial practice in Monterey. When he accepted a job as an emergency room physician at Boswell Hospital in Phoenix, the family moved to Arizona in 1971. She enjoyed spoiling her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. She lived for her family.
