Tom Collins

October 20, 1911 to January 25, 2012

WINAMAC - Tom Collins, 100, of Culver (formerly of Winamac), died at 9:25 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 25, at Miller's Merry Manor, Culver.

He was born Oct. 20, 1911 in Yazoo City, Miss. to the late Tom and Paulina Clay Collins. He married Lillian Williams on Oct. 26, 1952, in Chicago. She passed away Feb. 14, 2002.

Mr. Collins was a former resident of Chicago, moving to Winamac in 1969. While in Chicago, he worked as a meat packer. He played professional baseball and was a pitcher for five years for the Memphis Red Sox.

Friends may call after 1 p.m., Friday, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., (Friday, Feb. 3), at the funeral home with Richard Lindborg officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion-Franklin Township Cemetery,Winamac.
