Deloris J. Manis

December 16, 1932 to March 3, 2025

WINAMAC - Deloris Jean Manis, 92, of Lafayette (formerly of Winamac) passed away Monday, March 3, at St. Anthony Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Lafayette.

She was born Dec. 16, 1932 in Moline, IL to the late Roger Harvey and Katherine (Guthrie) Brown. She graduated from Knox High School. She married Lester L. “Bud” Manis on Nov. 4, 1950 at the Knox United Methodist Church. He passed away Oct. 5, 2012.

Mrs. Manis was a longtime member of the Winamac First United Methodist Church and was active in the United Methodist Women’s group. She was devoted to her daughters and served as a leader for 4-H and Girl Scouts for many years. She was an avid reader and a talented artist who enjoyed oil painting and ceramics. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She spent a lot of time with her grandchildren whom she cherished deeply. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Private burial will take place at Winamac Cemetery (McKinley Addition) in Winamac.
