Mr. Haniford was a beloved educator and coach with a career that spanned 37 years. His first year teaching locally was at Star City High School in 1967. He moved to Winamac High School the following year due to consolidation and retired from there in 2004. He taught drivers education, as well as health and physical education. He coached various high school teams, including the first-ever Warrior football team and boys golf. He was instrumental in bringing a girls softball summer league to Winamac. He and his wife enjoyed supporting their grandchildren, attending family gatherings, and going on fishing trips. They also enjoyed going to the casino. Mr. Haniford was a true outdoorsman with a passion for hunting and shooting. He loved his dogs (too many to mention!). He had a great sense of humor with no filter. Most of all, he loved his family and will be dearly missed.
At Mr. Haniford’s request, no services will be held.
