FRANCESVILLE - Lu Ella Bowman, 85, of Francesville, passed away Tuesday, July 9, at Parkview Haven Retirement Home in Francesville.

She was born May 13, 1939 in Weaverville, CA to the late Norvin and Janie [McNeal] Hershman. She grew up in Valparaiso, and lived most of her life in Summit City, CA where she attended Community Baptist Church.

She is survived by:
Gary (fiancée: Barbie Potter) Bowman, Shasta Lake, CA, Son
2 Grandchildren
Mary Geisler, Rochester, Sister

Preceded in death by:
Leta Cooper, Sister
Clara Cheek, Sister

Mrs. Bowman worked as a preschool teacher at church and as a CNA at a nursing home. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School and VBS, as well as caring for others. She also enjoyed traveling, reading, and listening to music. Most of all, she was proud of her son and grandchildren.

The family will host a memorial service in California at a later date.
