A groundbreaking ceremony for the wind turbine project is planned at 9:30 a.m., Friday (Sept. 30), at the football stadium. The community is invited.
The board approved a motion to offer vision insurance to the classified employees, as presented.
Elementary principal Tony Brose announced that the first “Family Literacy Night” would be held on Oct. 6. He thanked Vulcan materials for their continued support of the elementary school programs.
Middle/high school principal Don Street gave an overview of the PATH (positive approach to teen health) program that will be presented to the sixth grade students. Parents of sixth grade students will receive a letter explaining the program, as parent consent is required.
Street mentioned that the parent/teacher conference was well attended. He also announced the high school drama production will be presented on Oct. 8 and 9.
The board was reminded of the AdvancEd visitation that is to take place Oct. 9-12.
The board approved the revised Cooperative School Services Joint Service Agreement, as presented.
The board accepted the resignation from Cody Hopkins as an instructional assistance and assistant football coach.
Approval was given to the employment of Cheryl Boop on a temporary contract for the Cooperative School Services.
Approval was also given to the conference request from Rob Evans to attend the Hoosier Educational Computer Coordinators Conference in Indianapolis.
