The council received an update on the ongoing sewer separation construction project. Approval was given to release local grant match funds for the most recent payroll period.
Shawn Cain of Kankakee-Iroquois Regional Planning Commission appeared before the council to report on eight local homes selected to participate in a housing improvement ICDEA grant, largely intended for energy-savings projects which can include window, door and roof replacements or new heating systems. The council accepted the bid of Ray Tanner of Medaryville for the project.
Water superintendent Kevin Roe reported that new park lights are all installed, and the remaining LED light replacements must be finished by the end of the year to meet project requirements.
Town manager Jim Conner reported on two events planned by the Pulaski County Community Development Commission, included a "Complete Streets" program and two Economic Summits planned this autumn in Francesville and Winamac.
Conner also reported on a YMCA canoe trip in Septemeber which will end in the town park with a picnic. The event is open to all.
The fall town paving projects were discussed, as were two homes which, if not repaired by owners, may be deemed un-inhabitable and placed in the process which could end in demolition.
