The Francesville Republican Town Convention will begin at 7 p.m., at the fire station (doors will open at 6:30 p.m.). Four Republican candidates have filed (to date - filing ends Aug. 1) for three town council seats. The three candidates who receive the most votes at the town convention will appear on the November ballot.
The Winamac Republican Town Convention will begin at 7 p.m., at Winamac Community High School (doors open at 6:30 p.m.). At present, two Republican candidates have filed to run for the town's clerk/treasurer office.
Eligible voters at the town conventions must be registered Republicans and reside within the town limits. Questions about voter registration/eligibility should be directed to the Pulaski County Clerk, Tasha Foerg, at 574-946-3313.
A Democrat Town Convention for Medaryville, where four Democrats have filed for three at-large town council seats, has yet to be set.
State law requires town conventions be held by Aug. 20. Pulaski County Republican Party chairman is Robert Parish Foerg. Democrat Party chairman is Bill Reutebuch.
