Grads in Action: Recent high school graduates who received scholarships from the Pulaski County Community Foundation spent a work day giving back to the community. They are (left to right) Brianna Krause, Stefanie Boos, Will Kocher, Dillan Townsend, Hayley Harper and Chance Blankenship.
Supported by the Foundation Board, staff members Wendy Rose and Kim Krause organized the first-time opportunity for graduates. Natalie Federer from the Pulaski County Cooperative Extension Service was instrumental in working with the Foundation and the Extension Homemakers who contributed the supplies.
“This was a unique opportunity for the scholars to show gratitude for their early years in our community and to help spread the idea of youth philanthropy,” said Kim Krause, PCCF Scholarship Coordinator. “We plan to offer a Grads in Action project every year and welcome input on future tasks.”
“It was fun to see the graduates come together to do the project and know they are leaving one more lasting impression before they head off to college,” commented Wendy Rose, Executive Director.
Visitors to the park, annual 4-H Fair, and Power from the Past can view the completed work in front of the Community Center.
