Users will need to install free Adobe Digital Editions software or the OverDrive app. While reader applications (such as Adobe) are not always necessary in order to read an Ebook, they provide familiar options, similar to those of a printed book - such as bookmarking pages, highlighting passages, and saving selected text. eBook readers also have incorporated dictionaries, and adjustable font sizes and styles. E-titles automatically expire at the end of the lending period, which means there are no late fees.
Library director MacKenzie Ledley observed, “As e-readers continue to grow in popularity, our patrons have shown more interest in accessing e-books. This new program provides an amazing opportunity to “virtually" extend our hours and expand our reach”
The library’s eBook service, powered by Cleveland-based company OverDrive, is free for any of the 10,646 residents currently residing in Indian Creek, Cass, Franklin, Harrison, Jefferson, Monroe, Van Buren, White Post, or Rich Grove townships. Readers interested in downloading eBooks should visit www .pulaski-libraries.lib.in.us, call or stop by the Winamac branch for more details.
