Foster also reported the adjusted traffic patterns at the school are working better, and that work on the high school gym floor is complete.
It was announced the next school board meeting will be Sept. 17 due to conflicts with the ISBA/IAPSS fall conference.
Foster gave a financial report for the period ending July 31. All corporation funds had positive balances. After discussion, the board voted to approve all claims as presented.

Retirements/Resignations: Alexsondra Haschel, custodian/maintenance, submitted her resignation to further her education. Tammy Brandt, elementary school paraprofessional, submitted her resignation to help with the family business. High school teacher Laura Fred-Smith submitted her resignation to take a teaching position in Logansport. Scott Graham, custodian/maintenance, submitted his resignation to take other employment. All were thanked for their service.
Employment: Connie Warford, LPN, was recommended for the open WCMS//WCHS nurse position. Amanda Wall was recommended for an open EPES paraprofessional position. Chris Stout and Dawn Boehme were recommended for an open custodial/maintenance position. Ed Shank was recommended for the open middle school football coach.
Leave Requests: Jenny Wallace, bus driver/food service submitted a request for a special leave later this autum. Tami Powell, bus driver, submitted a request for a special leave early next year.
The board approved the personnel items as presented.
Other Items:
Foster and Adam Bennett submitted a request to purchase a battery backup for the server room. The battery backup would provide approximately four hours of supply. This is an e-rate project through government funding. After discussion of purchasing a generator instead, the item was tabled to gather more information.
As per House Bill 1009, voted to approve the resolutions to establish an Education Fund and Operations Fund, an Initial Funding for the Education Fund, and an Initial Funding for the Operations Fund.
1st Source Bank was thanked for providing lunch for registration workers. First Trust Credit Union was thanked for providing lunch for the new staff meeting/luncheon. Good Oil was thanked for providing lunch for the entire staff for the opening day meeting.
School Board comment: The new employees were welcomed. hose who resigned were thanked for their service. The maintenance department was thanked for taking the bushes out by the elementary and middle/high schools. Everyone was thanked for all they did during the building project.
