Alliance Bank’s 2015-16 Junior Board of Directors present $1,000 to three commendable community organizations. (L-R) Jennifer Rios, Taylor Shriver, Sherry O’Connor accepting the donation on behalf of the Winamac Community Pool Project, Ashlee Grubbs, Judy Heater also with the Winamac Community Pool organization, Derek Dotlich, Kyle Collins, Dick Stimmel accepting the donation on behalf of the Monon Theatre Restoration Project, Zen Zupin, Francis Pinn, Dan Fry accepting the donation on behalf of the White County Boys & Girls Club, Brody Brumm, Yadira Diaz Romero, Hunter Haygood, Randi Nine, Hannah Ball, Teresa Ball, Cassie Wuethrich and Braylin Balough.

The premise behind the Junior Board is to expose the students to the businesses and career opportunities available in Pulaski and White counties, encouraging them to bring their leadership and skill set back to the area after college.

At the same time, students are exposed to the value of volunteerism and community service, earning merit dollars for hours worked that they as a board can then decide to whom to give those funds. The community service endeavors and ideas are discussed and decided upon as a board, and the board can earn up to $1,000 to donate as they wish. Simply exposure to the way decisions are made as a board of directors is an experience for them in and of itself.

The 2015-16 Junior Board of Directors selected three commendable organizations to donate their funds:

  • $500 to the Winamac Community Pool Project,
  • $250 to the Monon Theatre Restoration Project
  • $250 to the White County Boys & Girls Club.

Check presentations took place during the Celebration Assembly.

During the Celebration Assembly, the high school senior members shared their Junior Board experiences, the 2017-18 Officers and new board members were announced and officers of the bank thanked the seniors and bid them best wishes on life’s next chapter for them.
