2016 Lilly Scholarship Finalists |
Each student is to be commended for earning distinction as a finalist for the prestigious scholarship. The recipient will receive four years of full tuition and required fees and up to $900 per year for required books and equipment.
The five finalists met recently with the scholarship selection committee in the last phase of the application process to attain the one slot as Pulaski County’s nominee.
The county’s nominee and two alternates will be submitted to a committee appointed by Independent Colleges of Indiana (ICI) for approval in accordance with the criteria and procedures consistent with applicable law and the overall goals of the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship program. The ICI committee will make the final approval of the recipient, and local communities will be notified by March 31.
The scholarship is fully funded by Lilly Endowment and administered locally through Community Foundation of Pulaski County. Lilly Endowment Inc. formed the Community Scholarship program in 1998 with hopes that it would encourage many of Indiana’s most talented students to attend Indiana’s higher education institutions and pursue occupations in Indiana. Over 4,100 Indiana high school graduates have received assistance to date.
