Kim Krause, Community Foundation scholarship coordinator and youth ambassador, led two after-school camps for elementary age students ranging from grades 1-5. Nineteen students from EPES, and 34 students from WCES participated in the three-day camps.
With the help of "Phil Anthropy," students are taught how they can give their time, talent, and treasure for the common good. Games, videos, and activities are some of the teaching tools used to help instill these values of giving at a young age.
This year students from both elementary schools took part in putting together gift bags full of nutritious meals and snacks for children in Pulaski County. FOPC kids filled these bags with cans of soup, mac-and-cheese, fruit cups, granola bars, peanut butter crackers, and oatmeal packets.
