Jessica Wagner has been hired as the Community Foundation’s first intern and will work in the area of communications this summer. Wagner was selected from a pool of worthy local applicants for the position.
A 2014 graduate of West Central High School, Wagner was active in many clubs, cheerleading, track and field, and as a peer tutor. She now attends the University of Indianapolis and is studying communications with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in studio art.
In the coming school year, Wagner will be an account manager for the student-run public relations firm, Top Dog Communication. Within the firm during her freshman year she was named Account Associate of the Month and was voted to become treasurer for UIndy’s Public Relations Student Society of America Chapter. She is also involved with UIndy for Riley, and next fall will become a part of the UIndy College Mentors for Kids program.
“I hope to gain more familiarity in working with nonprofit organizations and help support what the Community Foundation does for the county,” said Jess. After college she plans to return to Pulaski County to find work and raise a family.
“We are excited to welcome this bright, young college student as a member of the Community Foundation team,” said Wendy Rose, executive director. “We know that the internship program will both enhance our operations and help prepare students for success.”
