After the speaker, a small memorial service was given by Linda Good of the Happy Homemakers Club remembering Pulaski County homemakers who passed away in the last year. Those honored were Barb Clark, formerly of the Pulaski County Extension Chords, Berniece Riggs and Marcella Good, formerly of the Monroe Modern Club and Marjean Fritz, formerly of Indian Creek EH Club.
Deb Winter of Happy Homemakers presided over the installation ceremony of new county and club officers for 2014-2015. The service was based on different kinds of seeds and what each officer should bring to the organization to help it grow and thrive. The new county officers are: president Pam Rausch, first vice president Lenora Hoover, second vice president Pat Walden, secretary Rachel Rife, treasurer Marcia Link and advisor Julie Kasten. The new club presidents were also installed, followed by everyone reciting the pledge and mission statement.
The recipient of the 2013 EH scholarship for continuing education was announced by Gayle Conner of Patchwork Pals. It was awarded to Doug Hoover, husband of county vice president Lenora Hoover. Mrs. Conner also announced the members who had 100% attendance during the past year at club meetings, and gave certificates to the club which had the most guests (Happy Homemakers) and the club which had the most new members (Pulaski County Extension Chords).
Norma Smidler announced the winner of the Community Service Award which goes to a club that did an activity that benefited someone or something in the county. This year's winner was Patchwork Pals, who made and delivered meals for a couple during a time when they were in real need.
The Pulaski County Extension Homemaker of the Year was announced by Holly VanDerAa. This is for a homemaker who has given a lot of community service. The 2014 winner was Kay Foerg of the Nite Liters EH Club. "Behind the Scenes" Award was also announced. This is a person who gives a lot of herself without getting or expecting any recognition - this year's winner was Edith DePoy of Patchwork Pals EH Club. Her entry was read by Sue Rosenbaum.
Door prizes were announced which were the live flower centerpieces at each table made by the Country Friends EH Club. Happy Homemakers were in charge of the meal and the Patchwork Pals oversaw registration. Each person attending also received a small table favor made by Pam Rausch of the Extension Chords.
