Memorial services for the two Westfield women, killed in what police call a home-invasion robbery, are set for Friday.
Update (Dec. 27): The Indianapolis Star is reporting that an Indianapolis man has been arrested in connection with the Erb slayings. Christian Rene Haley, 20, was named as the suspect Thursday evening (Dec. 26). He is facing charges of murder, felony murder, robbery, burglary and theft. Haley is reportedly former employee of Todd Erb. |
Authorities are not yet releasing much information on the case, but are circulating photos of a person of interest taken from store surveillance footage from Indianapolis's Northeastside. Police have not revealed how the footage may be linked to the murders.
Police arrived at about 4:40 p.m., Friday (Dec. 20), after a relative found the victims and called 911. The women, who both lived at the house, died of blunt force trauma, police said. There were no signs of forced entry, according to authorities. The husband and father is not a suspect at this time.
Police also reported a 2011 Maroon Buick Enclave was taken from the home and was found a short distance away.
The Hamilton County Prosecutors Office, Indiana State Police, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Noblesville Police Dept. and the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office are all assisting in this investigation.
The Westfield mayor has allowed the city to dedicate all of its resources to help solve the case.
Obituaries for both women appear on the PulaskiPost.com obituary page.
