At 1:30 p.m., Monday, the Pulaski County 911 Dispatch Center was notified of an armed robbery at the Monterey bank. Officers from Pulaski, Marshall, Fulton and Starke counties, and Indiana State Police responded. Initial reports indicated a single white male wearing a mask and brandishing a long barreled revolver entered the bank and removed a known amount of currency.

During the course of the investigation - after gathering statements, surveillance recordings and eyewitness accounts - two suspects were identified, Freeman and Riley, according to Pulaski County Sheriff Mike Gayer.
Freeman has been charged in a probable cause hearing with robbery, Class B felony, an elevated charge as the incident involved a weapon. He is being held in the Pulaski County Jail on a $250,000 bond. Police are investigating to see if Freeman has a criminal history to determine if an habitual offender charge is warranted in this case.
Riley is charged with aiding a robbery, also a Class B felony. She is held at the county jail on a $150,000 bond.
The lead detective in the case is Scott Taylor from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department.
Immediately after the incident, reports went out that the robber was described as a six-foot tall white male, wearing a maroon ski mask and Carharts. It was said he escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, and drove away in a silver Chevrolet Impala with a missing license plate.
Reports said the man entered the bank, showed a handgun and demanded money.
