The opportunity to receive grants of up to $500 was offered to youth organizations, associations, or civic groups that provide services in Pulaski County.
Youth representatives were expected to play a key role in the process and finalists were required to make presentations to the Foundation Grants Committee.
Last year the Community Foundation awarded $500 to Winamac High School’s National Honor Society and to West Central’s Student Council for projects to improve their school/campus. This fall the opportunity was expanded to allow any youth organization to apply.
The 2013 youth grants were funded through the Good Oil/BP Youth Philanthropy Fund.
The purpose of the youth grant program is to familiarize local youth with the concept and benefits of philanthropy and increase awareness of its important role in the community.
