Donnelly said, “I hear from employers in Indiana’s manufacturing industry who have positions available but can’t find the workers who have the training demanded for the open jobs. I’m pleased the Department of Labor awarded Purdue University this grant because it will help bridge the existing skills gap and help Hoosiers find additional job opportunities in Northwest Indiana.”
Thomas L. Keon, Chancellor of Purdue University Calumet said, “Our College of Technology has been working on workforce development in northwest Indiana for several years. Manufacturing partners of our university need an educated workforce with proper training at many different levels.
