Foster said he and his family are grateful for this "opportunity to come home." He noted he began his administrative career in Winamac nine years ago, and the family still lives here. "We have a vested interest in this corporation, he added, "and if all goes well, this could easily be a retirement position for me. I am very excited to come back."
School board president Mike Tetzloff observed it has been "a long journey from March (when Klitzman tendered an offer to retire) to this moment," adding he has lost track of how many meetings the school board has had to outline a course for selecting and interviewing candidates for a new superintendent. He said there were 15 applicants for the position.
Foster and his wife Rachel have three daughters.
