Rhonda Danford, 55, also of Daviess County, was treated at Pulaski Memorial Hospital Thursday night (July 18) for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound she told police was inflicted by her husband at a rural Francesville residence.
Mrs. Danford called the Pualski County 911 Dispatch Center at 11:13 p.m., and told the dispatcher that she had been shot by her husband during a domestic dispute.
Pulaski County Sheriff's Department deputies and EMS responded to the scene and located the victim who had a single gunshot wound to her arm. She was transported to PMH for treatment.
The suspect had fled the scene before officers arrived. Several locations in Medaryville and Francesville were checked by Sheriff SWAT team members; however, the suspect was not located.
Danford later turned himself in Saturday to police at the justice center in Winamac.
The Pulaski County Prosecutor's Office was notified of the situation as it developed. A state police crime scene technician was called to the scene to process the evidence.
